Hank and Hannah's Story

Impaired vision can affect a child’s cognitive, emotional, neurological and physical development by potentially limiting the range of experiences and kinds of information to which the child is exposed.
Amanda is a mother of triplets born at 29 weeks – Hayden, Hank and Hannah.
Almost five years ago, Amanda learned that her daughter Hannah needed to wear glasses at six months old. They were shocked to learn that the glasses and lenses were going to cost more than $300.00. Amanda and her family were on a fixed income with no vision insurance. The Lion’s Club International referred them to Prevent Blindness Indiana. Amanda was grateful to learn that even though Hannah was not school-age they were still able to help with the expense.
Three months later Amanda learned that her boys Hayden and Hank also had vision problems. So again, Prevent Blindness Indiana helped them.
“We are not alone. There are many families out there whose children need glasses who can’t afford them. And with the economy failing, non-profit organizations like Prevent Blindness America run solely on monetary donations. We need to help these organizations by making a donation today. Without your help they will not be able to help many other families like mine. So please don’t wait and make your donation today to give the gift of sight to children!”
